At Excel Spring & Stamping, we have been providing high quality precision metal stamping services to our customers for over 50 years. This valve plate was manufactured for our customer in Tennessee. The valve plates are stamped from .105″ thick C1008/1010 cold rolled steel with a soft temper using our 150 ton punch press. The plates feature dimensions of 3.00″ in length, 2.760″ in width, and .190″ in height, and are manufactured to dimensional tolerances of ±.002″ and 1°. We produced this part as a stamping, in place of the customer’s old, more costly production method. The stamped part performed better, in addition to saving the customer over 50% in cost.

After stamping, the plates were de-burred and inspected both visually and through dimensional inspection to ensure all customer specifications were met. We have produced over 4,200,000 of these valve plates to date, but are capable of both short and long production runs. This steel valve plate demonstrates our ability to produce larger metal stampings, in addition to our expertise in smaller stampings, four-slide stampings, and custom wire forms. It is also an example of using embossments to ensure correct component position during assembly.
